Terranoux

First product · in development

Fixtures and jigs, starting with an inspection nest.

The first thing Terranoux plans to deliver end to end: a custom, non-load-bearing fixture designed from your part, checked by a simple fit test.

Why fixtures first

Fixtures are internal tools, so a first article can be benign when it is scoped to holding, locating and checking. Their geometry comes from the customer's own part, which makes the design workflow repeatable, and the result is verified directly: the part fits the nest or it does not.

This choice comes from desk research comparing four candidate families (fixtures and jigs, sheet-metal enclosures, lab adapters, mold-ready plastic parts). The scores are team estimates, not measurements, and buyer demand has not yet been tested.

First article

A 3D-printed inspection or assembly nest that locates one of your parts for a visual check or hand assembly, with a go/no-go fit test. No clamping force requirement, no motion, no stored energy. It would be made by an instant-quote fabrication service and checked against agreed acceptance criteria. No fabrication partner has been engaged yet.

In scope

  • Inspection nests that locate one part for a visual check
  • Assembly nests and holders for hand assembly
  • Locating fixtures and drill guides
  • Go/no-go fit checks against your part

Out of scope

  • Lifting or rigging devices
  • Machine guards or anything that protects people
  • Pressure-retaining parts
  • Fixtures that must resist clamping or cutting loads

What a delivery would include

Requirements
What the fixture must locate, hold or check, written down and agreed before design.
Parametric CAD
An editable model derived from your part geometry.
Drawing and dated bill of materials
What to make, from what, as of a specific date.
Inspection plan
The fit test and acceptance criteria the first article must pass.

Any fabrication order requires explicit approval before money is spent. A brief starts a conversation; it is not an order.

Have a part that needs a nest?

Send a brief with the part, what the fixture must do and how many you need. The part type is pre-selected for you.
